Prof. Dr. Frauke Berndt on von Günderrode’s “Don Juan”

Prof. Dr. Frauke Berndt of the Universität Zürich, will hold an in-person lecture at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 7, entitled:
“Castrating Classicism: Karoline von Günderrode’s Ballade ‘Don Juan.’”
Professor Berndt’s lecture will be held in Toy Lounge located on the fourth floor of Dey Hall on the UNC campus.
Following her Thursday evening lecture, Professor Berndt–together with Professor Eric Downing–will offer an optional in-person graduate workshop at Duke University on Friday afternoon, October 8, beginning at 3:30 pm entitled “How Realistic is Realism?”
If you would like to participate in this workshop, please register online no later than Friday, October 1, at which point in time two short readings will be circulated to all workshop attendees. The workshop at Duke University is provisionally scheduled for room 119 in Old Chemistry.
