Prof. Priscillia Layne has been longlisted for this year’s National Translation Award (NTA) for her translation of Olivia Wenzel’s 1000 Coils of Fear, a novel that explores the experience of being a Black German woman living in New York and Berlin. The NTA is awarded annually by the American Literary Translators Association to recognize literary translators who have “made an outstanding contribution to literature in English by masterfully recreating the artistic force of a book of consummate quality.”
