Intellectual Biography & Awards

My research interests largely focus on interdisciplinary approaches to second language learning, including – but not limited to – learner (de)motivation and the psychological processes involved in sustained language learning motivation. My current project analyzes the promise and potential of language learning as a transformative experience via a vignette-based study. I am further interested in investigating different areas of language pedagogy, especially social justice pedagogy, multilingualism and identity, as well as sociolinguistic topics and corpus-based teaching methods. I was recently awarded the UW-Madison College of Letters & Science Teaching Mentor Award.
