German Week
“Transnational Science Fictions”: Black German Culture and the Cultural Exchange between Germany and the US
This fall the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures has organized a series of events promoting Black German culture and the cultural exchange between Germany and the US. The event is called “Transnational Science Fictions” and it is sponsored by the German Embassy as part of their German Campus Weeks program. Here is a link to the event details on Facebook.

All the events are free and open to the public
Photo Exhibit, “Homestory Deutschland”
First there will be a photo exhibit, “Homestory Deutschland,” about Black German history on display from November 2nd until December 7th. The photos will be displayed at the Fed Ex Global Center in Suite 3200. The exhibit begins with a reception on Wednesday November 2nd at 5:30 pm. The Deputy Chief of the Mission will be visiting from Washington D.C. and speak briefly at the reception.
