Scholars from North American and European institutions explored a variety of social, cultural, and political issues of the region, including myths and legends from Moravian Wallachia, hometown regiments and public military ritual in Habsburg Bohemia, ethnicity, property, and opera in the First Czechoslovak Republic, Habsburg Central Europe’s global and imperial pasts, ethnic and political cleansing in Post-WWII Košice, etc. Prof. Hana Pichova was one of the co-organizers and workshop participants.
