Zoom Research Discussion with Dr. Adi Nester

In the fall 2020 the Department welcomed Dr. Adi Nester to its faculty, as teaching assistant professor of German and Jewish Studies Education. As opportunities for casual and academic interaction have been dramatically reduced during the coronavirus pandemic, Professor Gabriel Trop organized a discussion with the newest member of GSLL, which was held over Zoom on October 23, 2020. Dr. Nester earned her Ph.D. in German Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder in May 2020. Her dissertation, “People of the Book: Biblical Music Dramas and German-Jewish Alterity,” examined early twentieth-century biblical music dramas as sites for the articulation of difference and affinity between German-speaking Europeans and Jews
