Associate Professor Emerita Helga Bister-Broosen passed away on February 10, 2018 in Brugge, Belgium, following a long illness. She is survived by her husband Professor Emeritus Roland Willemyns (University of Brussels), who taught at UNC-Chapel Hill as a visiting professor and served on several thesis and dissertation committees.
