The Department of German Studies at Duke University announced that Shiqi Xu has been awarded the Bessent Teaching Award in recognition of her first year as an outstanding German language instructor. Tatjana Zimbelius-Klem has received the Borchardt Teaching Award based on her performance in the classroom and teaching evaluations as an experienced instructor. At UNC-CH, Andrea Larson received the Siegfried Mews Award for Excellence in Teaching German. Ameliah Leonhardt received a Student Undergraduate Teaching and Staff Award at the Chancellor’s Awards Ceremony, April 19, 2022. Jessica Ginocchio (BA’11, MA’13) won the 2021–22 Diane R. Leonard Award for outstanding foreign language teaching by a Comparative Literature graduate student. Jessica has been a standout instructor in our Russian language classrooms for many years now.
