Welcome to the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures
Our unit is organized to promote study and research in the principal languages, literatures, and cultures of central, northern, and eastern Europe and northern Asia. The languages we currently teach include BCS (Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian), Czech, Dutch, German, Hungarian, Polish, and Russian. We offer five different undergraduate majors leading to the BA (two in German, two in Slavic, and one in Central European Studies), a PhD program in German Studies (jointly with Duke University), and an MA in Slavic.
Details on all our offerings can be found by clicking on the appropriate tabs above or to the left. If you don’t find the information you’re looking for here, please feel free to call us (966-1642) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
